I have a slight obsession with bandana scarves lately and have been pairing them with everything under the sun … If you follow my Instagram account @bhart then I’m sure you’ve noticed the additive behavior.  This fringe scarf adds the perfect amount of western flair to my otherwise ultra modern getup. I also paired some of my favorite Jonas Studio Jewelry to this look because their pieces are so wearable. I love that the jewelry is all handmade and the brand is local! Check Jonas Studio out because they just added a new online store www.jonas-studio.net.

Obviously, I didn’t mind wearing rose gold and silver here – I am a huge advocate of mixing medals and don’t think you have to stick to one thing. When I do mix medals I always try to add the color in more than one place. For instance, the rose gold in my sunnies is also picked up in my clutch to balance the look out. Without the clutch the sunglasses might look a little out of place. As far as my overall theme of mixing modern & westerner – I’ve been seeing it everywhere and I spotted it most recently at the Louis Vuitton Resort 16 show in Palm Springs. Nicolas Ghesquiere played with a contrast of “sweet and hard” where I also saw some western influences mixed with modern ensembles. I always say to have fun with this and remember a little western goes a long way.

Dress : For Love & Lemons | Belt : St. Eve (Similar Style at Swell & Free People) | Nose Ring : Child of Wild | Bag : H&M | Boots : Isabel Marant

It’s that time again with the kick off of Coachella this weekend. The music and arts festival has a great line up but even better than the music is the desert fashion. So in light of Coachella I’m highlighting some of my favorite So Cal brands that are absolutly festival worthy. Let’s start with the widely popular For Love & Lemons, they have redefined what is sexy. Their intricate lace creations make every girl feel feminine and lovely. I am wearing their “Antigua Mini Dress” in chartreuse but it comes in an array of colors. The lingerie style dress looks great simply by itself and some nude heels but for the blog I wanted to take it in a more bohemian direction aka adding a chain belt and fringe. This “Tiny Dancer Belt” by St. Eve (purchased from Coco Rose Boutique) is the perfect boho accent to any look but I especially love it paired with this lacy number. The belt has so much intricate detail and movement and it’s a great investment piece because it simply dresses up your fave t-shirt and cut-offs in an instant. As for the jewelry I kept things relatively simple by adding a leather tie around the neck and a simple sliver body chain but the septum ring has to be my fave. Nothing beats this “Queen Cleopatra Nose Ring” by Child of Wild – it makes the best statement and it’s a must have for any festival look. To finish everything off I added my trusty slouchy fringe boots and leather clutch with tassel zip.

Good Night Moon Choker & Body Chain by Lili Claspe | Claws out Ring, Sofia Ring & Tri Ear Jacket by LUNA SKYE BY SAMANTHA CONN | Dress by Zimmermann

Spring is in the air, the flowers are in bloom and the weather is warming up. It’s a perfect time to flaunt cute sundresses and body chains. Layers of delicate gold jewelry on newly bronzed skin is a beautiful accent to any pastel frock. I am sporting some of my favorite jewelry obsessions past and present with this strapless number. Last summer I was all about the body chain game, this fall / winter I collected a number of ear jackets, and this spring I am obsessed with chokers, chokers, chokers galore. I am slowly but surely building up my choker collection, to start things off I invested in this “Goodnight Moon” piece as well as a simple gold chain choker by Lili Claspe. They both have been in heavy rotation since they layer really nicely with so much of my jewelry. I did a little light layering here with a choker & body chain pairing. I just added some delicate rose gold accents along the way. My rose ear jackets and rings are by Luna Skye by Samamthat Conn. Mixing metals keeps things interesting and I fully endorse the idea. Don’t be afraid to mix gold and silver or even something as subtle as gold and rose like I did here. As for the perfect summer dress I am drawn to pretty colors and cutouts. This ZimmermanSeer Marble Plunge Dress” is kinda the quintessential dress for any spring/ summer event like Easter Sunday or an outdoor wedding.
